LEARNING NEEDS

Dr. Lee’s research has concentrated on dispersing the myths about Asian Chinese families. She has influenced Asian family workers, particularly in China & Taiwan. Her works on children’s response to parental conflict have been regarded as ground-breaking in international family therapy arena.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Based on the work of Dr Lee Wai Yung, this is a series of learning and supervision of application / practice, where therapists learn her methodologies in family therapy. It is a culturally relevant approach particularly for Chinese families.

PROGRAM DELIVERY

This program is delivered as an interactive manner with individual review, group study and sharing. It is practical and designed to provide you with live and experiential learning to enhance your therapy style, approach and effectiveness.

Program details

The Supervision Group aims to expand individual style with the purpose of helping therapists become more versatile and adept at working with diverse family systems from different social classes and service settings. Supervision will be conducted by renowned family therapy trainers, including Wai-Yung Lee, Ph.D. Supervision hours can count toward AAMFT membership application.

DR LEE, WAI YUNG

This program is led by a group of experts under the supervision of Dr. Lee Wai Yung, Ph.D., AAMFT Approved Supervisor, Clinical Director of AITIA Family Institute (AFI). The AFI team includes Dr. Chen Xiang Yi, Ms. Abbie Wang, Ms. Zhou Xuan and Dr. Xu Wen Yan. Dr. Lee, is recipient of the prestigious 2014 American Family Therapy Academy’s Distinguished Contribution to Family Therapy Theory and Practice Award. Much of Dr. Lee’s research focused on dispersing the many myths about Asian Chinese families, as well as developing a framework for a culturally relevant approach in working with not only Chinese families, but also families of the world. Her research on Children’s response to parental conflicts has been considered ground-breaking in the family therapy field.
